The 8th FY novel: Eikou Den.

Here is a summary of novel 8...blah. it's all kind of a blur in my head b/c I read it all at once and I’m this way even with English books, so it might be kinda choppy...

Tasuki, Taka, and Chichiri travel for a while until they come upon a family who claims to have Chiriko. they get all excited and then are let down when they bring Chiriko out to meet them...Chiriko is a baby. BUT! Chiriko-baby talks! Chiriko-baby also has all his past memories as Chiriko. Chiriko-baby ALSO figured out that the world was falling apart b/c it was inside of a book. he tells the others that he doesn't know where the other reincarnated Seishi are, but that they must have been reborn earlier than he was. he also has the same sort of problem he had in the manga where if his character disappears, he becomes stupid...and baby-ish. Chiriko-baby warns them that he has been feeling like he's been losing his powers lately b/c of the damage to the book, so they must hurry and find the other Seishi before it's too late.

They leave Chiriko behind, since he's too young to travel, and look for the others. later, they come upon a 10-year old named Shouka, and she introduces them to her little boy-friend...yep, it's Mitsukake, age-5!! (he's sooooooo cute!!!) he is VERY protective of Shouka and doesn't want to go with Tasuki and the others b/c he wants to stay behind and "protect Shouka". he is dragged off kicking and screaming with Tasuki and the others to go look for the other Seishi (he still doesn't remember being Mitsukake yet.)

Meanwhile, Mayo is watching all of this in a magic crystal in the Suzaku mausoleum...

That night, Mitsukake has a bad dream that Shouka is being attacked by a bunch of evil birds. he wakes up and seeing that everyone is asleep (Tasuki fell asleep at his post ^^;; ), he leaves to go back and "save her".

The next morning, Tasuki and the others find Mitsukake gone and rush back to his home to look for him and find that Shouka had been attacked by a heard of black birds! she is dying and everyone is all sad when Mitsukake comes back! (he had run all the way home; bless his little heart >: )= he sees Shouka dying and feels terrible about it...a feeling strangely familiar to him. he suddenly gets his powers back and saves her from dying. then he remembers everything about his past life (he even changes his speech pattern back ^_^ ). he has to stay and protect Shouka, so Tasuki and the others go on.

Next, they find....Nuriko!!! they talk to Nuriko's parents about Nuriko being a Seishi, and they ask her if Nuriko had said any strange first words (Mitsukake's first words had been "Suzaku"), and the couple said that Nuriko had kept on saying "girl" proudly (Nuriko was reborn as a girl ^_- ) they talk to Nuriko, but she doesn't remember anything. her parents are kinda suspicious, too, and tell Tasuki and the others to get out of there, so out of choices, Tasuki kidnaps Nuriko >: )=

But instead of being mad and putting up a fight, Nuriko is kinda happy. she asks them if they can take her to the village where the beautiful boy she met lives. they figure out from her descriptions that the little boy must be Hotohori b/c he lives in a village called "Suzaku".

They go there. it is a VERY poor village, and Hotohori lives in the poorest house of them all. Nuriko goes up to him to confess her love to him and Tasuki and the others cheer her on (figuring that this might make both Nuri and Hori remember who they are), but Hotohori turns her down ^_^

From here on, the story gets kinda fuzzy in my mind...I might write some of these events out of order and it will be very...thingful...

Mayo figures out that the "Suzaku" talking to her is really a fake-Suzaku and "sees the light"TM and decides to help the others.

The world is falling apart more and more. back in the real-world, Keisuke, Saori (Mayo's friend), Yui, and Tetsuya all...ermm....cheer them on and stuff...

Mayo is feeling hopeless again and that no one loves her and kinda decides to commit suicide in the same pond that Miaka kinda tried to commit suicide in when Tamahome became evil. back in the real world, Keisuke reads about this. he calls Taka up on his cell-phone and Taka goes to rescue her. he makes it just in time with the others. Hori and Nuri find that pond rather familiar, and then they remember...Nuri had tried to kill Miaka there by telling her she had lost an earring in there, and Hotohori had saved Miaka from drowning in there when she had tried to commit suicide after Tamahome became evil...they got all their memories back.

So now, everyone had their memories back, but time was running out. Mayo was getting sick/dying, and well, she was kinda dead-ish, but Miaka in the real world was kinda the same way...b/c Mayo and Miaka were now linked. the Seishi and Mayo/Miaka call on Suzaku again and save the world with the help of Miaka's baby which is really the shinzaho, and it's very strange, and blah blah blah (this part was supposed to be very moving...but I thought it was quite cheesy ^_^ )

All the Seishi that were reborn were to continue on their lives with no memories of their pasts OR what had just happened. no Seishi powers, either. Taka and Mayo went back home.

Mayo materialized back at the garbage heap where she had found the book. she wonders if it were all just a dream at first, but then knows it's real when she gets home and over a day had passed. her parents were very worried about her and are very happy to see her. they tell her what they had been trying to tell her before she left; that they were thinking of trying to work things out in their marriage again. Mayo is very happy, feeling the love of her parents and of the Suzaku Seishi and rushes up to her room. she feels the baby is safe, and tells it to go back to Miaka.

Miaka wakes up with her baby all safe and everyone is happy. Mayo goes to the hospital to see Miaka and introduces herself (even though Miaka knows who she is ^_- ) Mayo and Keisuke also sorta get together ^_^. and everyone lives happily ever after.

In the author's freetalk at the end, she explains that Mayo is YOU (as in, the readers/fans of FY). ANYONE can become a Miko. and you are not alone b/c you have all the Suzaku Seishi behind you (seems like she almost wrote this story for suicidal teens >: )= I will try to dress up this summary or whatever later...maybe...
