From Tasuki no Miko's manga translations, here's what Watase Yuu had to
say about Suboshi:
"The opposite of his older brother, he is violent, determined,
obstinate, and reckless. Because his brother took the trouble to raise him
after they lost their parents at a very young age, his love for his
brother (which goes too far) is rather strong. He would even kill for his
brother's sake. Because he falls in love with Yui, the only person other
than his brother who was kind to him, he hates Miaka and is jealous of
Tamahome."
My own thoughts:
Suboshi is very one-track minded and lashes out violently when his temper
flares, not thinking of the consequences. It's as though he never learned
where the line between devotion and obsession lies.
I have to admit, I really don't care
for the guy a whole lot. I understand the motivation for his actions, but
I wish he could simply have been more mature and thought a bit about what
he was doing and how it would impact others. But I suppose the whole point
of his character was to demonstrate what happens when you see your world
in such a narrow light that it only consists of you and your loved ones;
not the innocents next door, and the people on the other side of the
planet who you may hurt in pursuing your selfish vendettas.
I just can't summon much respect for
people who routinely act impulsively out of fear, hurt, or anger. It takes
a lot more strength, maturity, and peace of mind to try and deal with your
situation rationally.

*Spoilers generally all around. But if you haven't seen all of Fushigi
Yuugi by now you must've been living under a rock.
The great dragon, Seiryuu, rests in the Eastern skies above Koutou. It is
said that when the country is in danger, a girl fom another world will
come, collect the Seiryuu Shichiseishi, and summon the dragon god to save
the land. The gracious and beautiful Yui-sama traveled through the
Shijintenchiso to arrive here and become Seiryuu no Miko. With her
warriors, she fights against the vile hag priestess of Suzaku. The hag's
evil minions include Tamahome, the bas--

just that, so refrain from cursing her out here. Some fans, yes I know
it's hard to believe, but some fans actually like her and might get
offended if we speak too badly about her now, alright?

Why Should You Like Him?
He's recieves a lot of character development for a minor villain, I guess
making him a not-so-minor one. ^^; His personality is more fascinating
that most of the characters on the show, and *far* better than that of his
wimpy brother.
Suboshi: HEY! ::glare::
Alright alright, so I'll tolerate him out of respect for Suboshi. Now now,
put the Ryuuseisui DOWN dear. At any rate (^^;), his actions in the show
are dramatic and surprising, Watase-sensei used him to forward the plot
several times. You can be sure there'll be excitement when he shows up,
breaking the monotonous humdrum of Tamahome and Miaka (who have an
annoyingly large amount of screen time during second season). And the only
reason any of us put up with the first OAV is for his appearance Well, and
the omake. Definitely the omake.
Plus <SPOILER> this, and <SPOILER> that, how can you not love
such a sweet guy? ^_^
Why He's On This Site:
So many people hate him. I really can't see why. Sure he does some pretty
evil things (although I liked them), but he *is* a villain after all, and
fits his role very well. If you look at him as a character and not just as
a mean jerk, he's a really great one. Emotional, immature, vicious, yet
fiercely loyal and kind to the ones he loves.

Welcome to my Suboshi page. Suboshi is one of the
most mixed-up and least informed of the Seiryuu Seishi. He tends to only
get half of a story before he goes flying off the handle and messes up
peoples' lives. Suboshi is hot-headed, short-tempered, and almost
clue-less to what is really going on around him, a foil of his
brother. Oh yeah, Suboshi is Amiboshi's younger twin brother. Suboshi
loves both his brother and Yui, who will he choose?
